INDIAN OCEAN

Seychelles

Private islands and a coastline built entirely on slowing down.
WHY GO THERE

Where the Ocean Takes Over

Seychelles is where a journey turns fully toward the water: powder-white beaches, warm turquoise shallows, and private islands built for total seclusion. Often paired with a bush safari beforehand, it offers a close entirely apart from the wilderness that came before it.

WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE

Private Island Villas

Private island lodges with direct, unbroken beach access, set apart from any other guests.

Untouched Waters

Some of the Indian Ocean's clearest, least crowded water, calm enough for swimming most days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before you go. Can’t find the answers you’re looking for? Please chat to our team.
Is the Seychelles good for a honeymoon?
Yes, and it is one of the most reliable choices for privacy alone. Many islands operate as single-lodge destinations, so guests can go days without seeing another traveller outside their own resort. Private villas, plunge pools and beach dining are widely available, and the pace suits couples who want very little on the itinerary beyond the beach itself. Pairing the Seychelles with a bush safari beforehand is a common and effective way to close a longer honeymoon.
What is the best time of year to visit the Seychelles?
The islands are warm year-round, so the choice comes down to sea conditions rather than temperature. May to September brings the southeast trade winds, with cooler air, livelier surf and excellent sailing conditions. October to April is calmer and warmer, with the clearest water for diving and snorkelling, though short rain showers are more frequent. Cyclones do not affect the islands directly, so there is no true off-season in the way some other beach destinations experience.
Which Seychelles island should I stay on?
It depends on what the trip is for. Mahé and Praslin offer more infrastructure, restaurants and day-trip options, while smaller private islands such as North Island, Fregate or Desroches are built around total seclusion, often with only a handful of villas across the entire island. Travellers combining a safari with a beach close often prefer a private island, since the contrast in pace is part of the appeal. Island-hopping by light aircraft or boat is straightforward if more than one stop is wanted.
Can I combine the Seychelles with a safari in Africa?
Yes, and it is one of the most natural bush-and-beach pairings available. Flight connections run through Nairobi, Johannesburg or Addis Ababa, making it possible to end a Kenya, Tanzania or Rwanda safari with several days on the water without a long detour. Guests coming from gorilla trekking or a walking safari often value the change in pace as much as the scenery, since the two experiences work well as a deliberate contrast rather than an afterthought.
How many days do I need in the Seychelles?
Four to five nights is enough to settle into the pace of a single island, particularly when paired with a safari beforehand. Travellers wanting to combine two islands, such as a livelier stop on Mahé or Praslin followed by a private island, should allow six to eight nights in total. Much depends on how much of the trip is meant to be about doing very little - a shorter stay can still feel complete on a single, well-chosen island, while a longer one allows for slower days and less structured time.
